Beansville
True friends will always stay with you,
Through good times and through bad.
They'll take the time to listen,
When something's made you sad.
When you're feeling lonely,
They'll let you know they care.
They may be very busy but,
They'll find the time to share.
True friends are happy for you,
When good things come your way.
They'll celebrate your triumphs,
And encourage you each day.
If you have a friend that's true,
Count your blessings for this gift.
For that will stay with you forever,
When the rest have gone adrift
Author of this poem is unknown to me
but I would like to dedicate it to my friend Martin McBean for being a friend.
A Gift Of Care..A Gift To Share
In one's life from A to Zee
One needs to be aware
That sometimes periodically
There exists a need to care!
It could be a loved parent
A relative, a friend..
Or a child whose health went errant
Who needs a hand to lend
There are no special classes
Or "caregiver" degree
Progress as slow as molasses
To cope successfully
Spending time helping others
Is a great gift to give
We are in fact all brothers
To help each other live!
So if along this path called life
You give care or receive
To meet the challenge of such strife
You really gotta believe!
The Friend "Ship"
It's very easy to sail the boat
When the wind is at your back
The thing however is to take note
When full frontal winds attack!
For in a true friendship
Some bad storms may arise
Someone lets a comment slip
And next thing, someone cries
The challenge quickly does become
To get the ship back on course
To return to joy from the glum
And avoid a bad divorce
The idea then is to persevere
And always remain as friends
There's obviously a lesson here
And that's to try and make amends
For without friends, we're all alone
Making it a rather tragic trip
This is why it should be known
It takes two to sail the friend ship!
Coincidences…
They say in life a coincidence
Is nothing more than that
But I'd like to raise this defence
And explain just where it's at.
The big guy works in mysterious ways
And oft' hides behinds the scene
But occasionally on certain days
He's been known to intervene.
A chance meeting of a friend
In some far off traveled place
Or hearing an old song and pretend
You can see that person's face.
Some may think it's just pure luck
But I think it's mighty strange
Amid the chaos and amuck
How life is rearranged
So next time you feel something neat
Or a sense of déjà vu
It could be just another feat
Of a God who's helping you!
My Favorite Season
With regard to each season
Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall
I would offer up this reason
For my favorite one of all!
It would last all year round
And never have an end
And that season would be friendship
Very real and not pretend!
For you never know what time of year
To your special pal you'll say
For you my friend I'm always near
Everything will be okay!
Poem For A Far Away Friend…
I would have sent some airline tickets
But it can be dangerous to fly
I would have sent some flowers,
But eventually they die
Cash is always very nice
But alas you can't spend it twice
A combo Pizza is always great
But again after eaten it's met its fate
Chocolates would be a little hard
Getting them to fit within the card
So from puter land I have drug
An everlasting, reusable, electronic hug!
Version Two For Far Away Friends…
I would have sent you flowers
But it didn't seem to suit
Your personality is more bananas
So I should have sent some fruit!
But because you live so far away
The fruit may have arrived rotten
So here's a little get well wish
So know you're not forgotten!
For Internet Friends
I hope we'll be friends forever
Each of you has a piece of my mind
And while we'll probably never get together
We're never far behind!
Cause a hello is only keystrokes away
And very easy to do
And it always brightens up my day
When I get one back from you!
